PIC and PCB Construction

Here is how to get going in your PIC and PCB ventures. + Obtain MPLAB IDE software from www.microchip.com + Find someone to teach you PIC's or learn your self. + Obtain a PIC programmer from Dontronics. (works with MPLAB). Programmer + Either get a proto board, or make a board as below. Proto Board + Obtain Eagle PCB software. + Try your design on a photo paper first + Comparison between ink jet (L) and laser (R) + Print out a high resolution laser printer clear film from eagle. + Obtain some pre-treated PCB boards from DSE,and developer and ferric chloride. + Make a light box or put your PCB in the sun for 20 seconds. + Remove the cover and expose the film on top of the PCB for 6 minutes. + Develop and etch your board. Wash between each process (heat fluids for 1 minute in microwave. + Remove the photo resist with acetone. + Drill holes and mount components.
